Conditions of Contest (CoC)
Registration, Scheduling, & Flexibility
No Registration Fee.
No Award for any specific League.
No walk-overs or match forfeitures are allowed.
Once registered, teams are committed to completing the League.
Scheduling:
o Teams must provide their preferred general game start-time windows.
o Initial proposed schedule will be published with a suggestion to play one game per week.
o Opposing teams will discuss and agree upon a specific date and time for their match.
o Matches may be moved to a different week upon request if necessary.
Flexibility:
o Teams are requested to remain flexible to accommodate the scheduling of the tournament.
Substitutes:
o Any player (including those from other teams or outsiders) may act as a substitute in case of emergency.
Format & Rules
Rules are decided via survey, polls, or votes from participating teams. These are decided at the start of the year during a general meeting.
Following Decisions were made based on last Survey/Poll Result conducted in 2021:
o 2025 Leagues were conducted based on these rules.
o League Format (Single or Double)
§ Single if no of teams =>8
§ Double if no of teams <8
o Format of Playoffs
§ 3 Play-offs (Qual1, Eliminator, Qual2 & Final for Double League
o Number of boards per round
§ 6+6 for League games
§ 8+8 for Play-off games & Finals (additional 3+3 for tie)
o Number of games per week
§ 1 game minimum
§ 2 games maximum (unless requested)
o Substitutes:
§ Any player (including those from other teams or outsiders) may act as a substitute in case of emergency.
Point Format: Victory Point (VP) follows the WBF International Standard.
o VP has been adopted starting from the 4th League of 2021.
Game Setup
Assign a team member to setup the team match
Post pair names for a match in the GBG WhatsApp group
Tournament Director will provide compiled information and pair IDs before the match.

Alert & Explain
Always write on the “Explain” box for Alert & Explanations.
Never use the chat window for Alerts & Explanations.
Please ALERT the opponent:
o If unconventional, non-standard bidding is done
o If other than SAYC/2-over-1 (ACOL, Precision etc.) is used
o Artificial bidding is done (except Stayman)
o Announce the point range for 1NT/2NT opening
o In case of a misclick or misbid, click on your bid and write the explanation.
Please Explain in Explain box when opponent asks for explanation:
o You can write the name of the convention and/or the meaning of the bid - the same message you are giving to your partner.
Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC)
A 5-member committee elected annually.
